Angie Martinez: The Voice of Hip Hop History

Angie Martinez, commonly known as the Voice of New York, did an interview on The Breakfast Club this morning to promote her new memoir, My Voice, that’s being released Tuesday, May 17, 2016.

I’m a huge fan of Angie! (I low key want to be the next Angie Martinez) If you’re a fan of hip hop, man or woman, you know and respect who Angie is in the hip hop culture. Her experience and influence in the industry is inspirational. If you watch or listen to her interviews you’ll notice that she has a way of making her guests feel extremely comfortable in a way that, as a viewer, you feel like you’ve eavesdropped in on a conversation between friends. She makes what she does look easy, but there is a real talent, skill, and empathy that’s needed to make someone feel trusting enough to have an intimate conversation.
