I was first introduced to Dear Silas at a concert held in Jackson, MS. I was completely blown away by his talent as not only a thought provoking lyricist, but a talented musician. He effortlessly went from rapping to playing his trumpet back to rapping as if such artistry is easy to do. I was undoubtedly amazed and deemed him the “Kendrick Lamar of Jackson, MS”. However, I don’t want to start any comparisons, because he is a star in his own right. I’m so excited to see Silas’s growth into becoming the star I know he is destined to be. Check out his new video for his single “Gullah Gullah Island” and listen to his new project “The Day I Died” below. Comment and tell us what you think.
